In accordance with our carefully crafted full day tour will be starting from pick up at your hotel in Colombo, mount Lavinia, Negombo or Wadduwa. Then directly head on to the city of Kandy which is known as the hill capital of Sri Lanka. While on your way to the city of beautiful Kandy we stop at Spice Garden in Mawanalla & a tea factory in Giragama. Further Bathing is a well-known craft in Sri Lanka and was popular throughout the western world because of its art of mixing colours using wax and it is deep rooted in to the local culture and many of local artists develop it as one of our own unique creations.
After enjoying a sensual journey that you will never forget move on to Giragama tea factory to explore the tea plantations which produce the tea considered to be the best in the world. Tea was first planted in Sri Lanka in 1824 at the botanical gardens at Peradeniya which was brought from China. In an attempt to compete with China’s tea production, the British initiated tea plantations to Ceylon in 1867. Giragama tea factory is located in central Sri Lanka, 510 meters above sea level. After spending an hour discovering the entire process of how tea is made, you can enjoy a cup of estate grown and processed tea which is impressively delicious.
Next, we scheduled to move on to the city of Kandy within 30 minutes that is not too far from the Giragama tea estate.
The Kingdom of Kandy was an independent monarchy of the island of Sri Lanka at the end of the 15th century which finally fell in to the hands of British in 1815.
You will be taken to visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic which demonstrates the value that has given to the Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
